I don't know if you meant this question for everyone or not, but yes I
have. I took part in two sheep slaughters for our shire's '99 & '00
events & it was definitely an education. I think everyone who eats
meat should participate in (or at least witness) a slaughter.
As I have opined before, meat is more than a lump shrink-wrapped to a
foam tray. To take an animal from on-the-hoof status to feast
presentation gives one a greater appreciation for the life cycle & a
greater sense of pride in the finished product.
