*blink* Where did you get this information? The only reason I know of to
remove the bay leaf when you cook something is because dried bay leaves
are tough and brittle; to put in bay leaves, you want to pulverize them
pretty well to avoid the pokiness that can lodge in your gut. Could this
be what you are talking about?
