OK, so maybe i wasn't very clear (i thought my PS would make it so)...
I was joking...
I lived in Manhattan between 1967-70 (although i did spend the summer
of '68 in San Francisco) and i remember backyards behind 3 and 4
story apt buildings in the vicinity of Greenwich Village.
And there is Central Park... and all those stunted trees lining the
windswept canyons of Manhattan's streets...
And i did visit Brooklyn on occasion - to see dance and music
concerts and visit the museum there and shop at Sahadi's Middle
Eastern market. And i think i even had some friends who lived there
and they even had single family houses with trees in the yards.

Sheesh, can't have a little fun around here...
