There, ya see, you are correct and I misspoke. True, cattails in the
know can detect differences in the accents of Brooklyn and Bronx
cattails, but foreign, non-NYC cattails, many of whom have learned what
they know about the New York cattail accent from watching Bugs Cattail
cartoons, have been misled by the synthesis accent created by Mel Blanc
when he voiced the character in the early 1940's.

The Staten Island and northeastern Queens cattails are similar, both in
accent and in a tendency toward big hair, even though they are _not_
geographically contiguous. Possibly an early migration, a Thor Heyerdahl
sort of thing, might explain it.
