The instructions call for soaking the nuts for several days in a syrup of
honey or sugar, boiling for a bit each day. To make a "comfited" (if that's
a word) almond, you'd have to dip the almond in syrup, let it dry, dip it in
again, let it dry, until a thick layer of sugar builds up. One's soft and
sweet, the other crunchy and sweet. :-)
