I've found several references to food fights as part of Carnival festivities,
and there was a message posted here back in November that referenced the same
Spanish food fight.  There's another mock battle where the combatants were
maidens who threw flowers and spices.

I'm hoping to stage a similar mock battle at an event later this month -- I'm
just trying to figure out what to use for ammo....
