regarding a portable hole.

The ones I am familiar with are like a long tent peg with two horizontal
loops toward the upper end.  You drive the lower, pointed end into the ground
like a tent stake, until it is quite steady (sometimes as much as a foot,
depending on the style you have), and then you drop the pole of the tiki
torch into the two loops.  Makes it nigh impossible to accidently knock the
torch over.  It is much, much easier than trying to drive the pointed bamboo
of a standard torch into rock-hard ground in any sort of stable manner.
