There is a recipe in Granado for "Ajada" (garlic sauce) with walnuts
and almonds which might suit.  First of all, there is a lot of
crossover between period Spanish and Italian cooking.  Secondly,
Granado plagiarized all of Scappi, so this may actually be an
Italian recipe.  It's in this Florilegium file:
