You'll be pleased to know that Carlos Murphy's went out of business years
ago and their building has just been torn down to make way for an office
complex.

Arty's Deli, unfortunately, couldn't survive the last DoD downsizing and
contract-trimming, and is no more. *sigh* Gotta love a man who served 1/2
pound hamburgers made from meat he ground himself in the morning, spiced as
he mixed, and shaped by hand as the orders came in. Those late evening
burgers were to die for! (He was a Jewish CPA turned deli owner. Said food
was more rewarding. He'd check at your table and guilt you if you didn't
look like you were enjoying your food - then bring an extra cream soda over
to your kid so they can "taste real stuff, not that cola-cr*p I have to
serve to pay the bills." And he'd bum your slice of pickle off of you when
he had the munchies so he'd not blow his diet.)
