Freddie Prinz, Jr. was on the Daily Show last night.  He is playing Fred in
the movie, and is a major-league fan of the original show.  He said he had
tapes of every episode, even the late-'80's version where all the kids
except for Shaggy are gone, and are replaced with a Puerto Rican kid named
Rudy.  He said it was terrible, and this coming from someone who loved the
original.  It seems that Scooby has world-wide fandom, and it was filmed in
Australia where it is also a big thing.
It does turn out that the movie had the biggest June opening of all time,
some 50 million on it's first weekend.
Go figure, Scoob!
