Down that way a lot of women folk I know store them in panty hose.  Put one
in, tie a knot, put another in, tie a knot, put...well you see the theme.
Because Vidalia onions are so juicy (which is one of the reasons they are
soooo sweet) they tend not to keep well, especially in a confined space.
Hanging, tied in pantyhose these do pretty well.  Of course, having seen the
specticle of row apon row of hanging onions is ~just a little~ wierd.  But
they sure do make a great onion pie!
