Didn't know about his movie work (although it doesn't
surprise me), but I know of him by his mundane name,
as one of those smiths whose work I drool over ;-)

or reputation, you might want to take a look through this

number of interesting messages from him about bladesmithing
reside. There is also a listing of the three books he has
written on the subject.
