Most of the guild is still recovering from doing a lion's share of the work
on the Solstice feast. I do know that the guild members themselves do many
feasts and that they (I being one of them) meet monthly to try out period
recipes and publish the best of those discoveries in the local newsletter.
The guild was not consulted in regard to this feast and it's members are
hesitant to step in and push their view too strongly where gentle suggestion
might be more effective.

Perhaps this would be the point to ask the more widespread questions. How
are the cooking guilds others know about organized? How often do they meet?
what do they do? AND how best should a guild or an individual go about
encouraging the use of more period recipes at feasts?
