Well, the idea is to taste the peppers.  That being said, the other
elements are quite noticable.  If you aren't used to eating hot stuff, the
heat will just kill your taste buds, but when you get a little more used to
it, you start to be able to taste all kind of layers of flavours within the
hot stuff.
