BINGBINGBING! This is what I'm after- understanding the judgement calls
*within the guidelines*. Anotehr example I can use is the Crust of Tame
Creatures (Platina, IIRC). Many of the ingredients are listed as 'use
this, or if you have none, use this' and the possibilities for fruit
added... I bet I could make one and have a very different product than
if Olwen, reading the same recipe, might make- and that only because of
the variations in ingredients. When you add the variable of amounts and
technique not specified, you get even more differences. But it is the
judgement calls that I find interesting. Do we make them solely on
experience? On how mom did something? JOC? Betty Crocker? Or on the
collective wisdom of the list? And what happens when your sources
disagree?
