Hmmm, reminds me of breakfast at Valhalla event in Politarchopolis
about 3 years back. We were having trouble getting rid of the
porridge so the breakfast crew (who were also serving) decided to
start singing songs to push the "gruel"...

Let's see...

The Beatles "All you need is Gruel, la la la la la..."

The Stones "Brown Gruel! Just like a young girl should..."

Sinatra "Blue Gruel, you saw me standing alone..."

The Goodies "Gruel, Gruel, Gruel, Gruel, everybody loves Gruel, boom,
boom, boom, boom" - String Song

Black Lace 'Aga Gruel, Gruel, Gruel, Push Pineapple, shake the
tree..." - ps, the lyrics of original of that goes great to the tune
of greensleeves...

There were many more...

Eventually we gave double bacon for any fighter who also took gruel
(usually slapped on top of the bacon) and that got rid of the gruel,
and the bacon too... We brought 30Kg of Bacon for 120 people for 2
days... we had it with every meal...

Then there was the time a particularly well respected Laurel sprung me
in the kitchen wearing one of those aprons that start at the neck,
with 2 honeydew melons down my front, inviting everyone to feel my
"Big bussies".

And then there was the time my protege sister (I'm sure she's gonna
read this... Hi Will! :)~ ) and I started a food fight after the
dessert course of a particularly good feast we'd run. Started with
flour and ended up with icing sugar and finished with cider showers...
My defence to my pelican was that I didn't start it...
