[Sca-cooks] statistical studies

I've heard a lot of people make a lot of claims that working with the
recipes blind will teach you more than reading secondary sources.
Well, obviously, the problem with that (as someone demonstrated recently)
is that all you learn about is what is in the recipes you choose to
redact.

So, here's a suggestion: what about people taking on statistical studies
of particular texts and series of text in terms of how many recipes for
what foods, what raw ingredients, what spices, what techniques were used
in the recipes in that text?
