I just reviewed Jacqui Wood for Serve It Forth.
It has the same problems as most of these books that
attempt to recreate a cuisine from a period when we
have no written records, but she has a great deal of
practical experience as someone who practices "early"
living history. Bibliography is not that great, only 14 items.
People may find it quite interesting for the practical
details of clay baking outdoors and cooking with hot stones.
Lots of very different open fire outdoor recipes. Very
interesting for those planning to camp out this summer
and wanting something new to attempt.
