C. Anne Wilson, _Food and drink in Britain._ (Chicago : Academy Chicago
Publishers, 1991)

All the introductory material around the recipes and menus in _Le Menagier
de Paris_; the introductory material in De Nola; the material on cooking
in Platina, _On Right Pleasure and Good Health_. Manners books, such as
are incorporated in the Early English Text Society collection referred to
as _The Babee's Book_ after the first text in it, will tell you about the
duties of various officers in the household, including the cook.
