I did that.

It seems that her publisher had problems last year,
and she put the book on the back-burner for a bit as
a result. It's now moved to the front of the queue
again: but she's got a new job in the local museum,
and that plus her teaching schedule  (archaeology, at
the local colllege) isn't leaving as much time as
she'd like. I asked if it would be out for Xmas, and
she said she'd like it to be.

I gather that a large part of  the problem is that there
*are* no original recipes as such. There are
"leechdoms", which give medicinal recipes, but
these are hardly standard cookery. I'm sure she'll
give what sources she's got, but it won't be like
"Ordinance of Potage" or something.
