I believe these sugar cones are made with cane sugar. Mine don't say
what kind of sugar they are made of, just "sugar". Mexico produces a
fair amount of sugar cane. I don't think they are a big area for
sugar beets.
In previous discussions, I believe there were comments that those
sugar cones are probably the closest, commercially available
equivalent to medieval sugar cones that you will find available now.
There has also been some discussion of the tools used to scrape the
sugar from these cones.
