Well, at least the venomous animals would have been
familiar, though some of the others, like raccoon and
opossums were definately on the wierd side!!

The Pilgrims had already had experience with Turkeys
and such, Beaver and Bear and Moose were known in
Europe, though not found in England for quite some
time.

Definately, Australia's extreme isolation produced the
wonders that surprised the world!
