After reading this I am glad I visited my aunt in the nursing home she was
put in. It didn't smell bad and was sort of a nice place. Although I think
I did feel the despair and wasteland. Not so much for her because she had
dementia--which if I understood correctly is a lot like Altzheimer's--but
some of the other patients, who could really live in an apartment by
themselves as long as someone checked on them once or twice a day to make
sure they ate and took their medication.

It was very expensive $6000 a month. The nursing home is located in NJ
which may be one of the reasons why it is more. They also according to my
other Aunt who was taking care of her to be very highly rated.

I have to admit I wasn't offended by the joking, mostly because I don't
think of a nursing home as assisted living. Assisted living to me I though
was defined as apartment living with an aide who checks on you and a
nursing home is a hospital like setting where there are aides and nurses.

That could be just me defining terms the wrong way.

I can't help myself and apologize in advance for this next part.

An assisted living center could make for a lot of fun for old people.

You could be in more than one century all in the same day. ;-)

Oh yeah the obligatory food thing applies too, you could eat a recipe from
more than one century all in the same day.
