This last Pennsic, I went into town to buy a mattress from Goodwill,
meaning to return it as a donation after the event. As it happened,
Goodwill's prices were higher than I thought possible ($99us for a bunk-bed
mattress!), so I resigned myself to an airmattress - and found a discount
store right next to my targeted Wal-Mart where I was able to get a
inner-spring mattress for a little over $50. That so impressed my travelling
companion that she bought one too.
We both donated them after the event. It was an added feel-good factor
along with our great sleep each night.
