[Sca-cooks] Thanksgiving

When I first married my wife, we would go to thanksgiving with her parents
and her mom would cook stoeffers lasagna. Not exactly a traditional
thanksgiving is it? I was told that her family really didn't do holidays.
This went on for several years, until one time she made something like
saurerkraut, which my wife and I and my wife's brother couldn't stand. We
asked why it was made and were told that everybody gets to pick one dish.
Where upon we three looked at each other and said, "we want turkey, mashed
potatoes and green bean casserole". It was a priceless moment, and we have
never gotten stoeffers lasagna again. And I found out that my mother in-law
can really cook. This year I'm looking forward to some pretty decent food.
I've even grown to love rhubarb pie, which is not something that grows well
in south central texas. So until recently I never had it.

It's grown to much more, like alton brown hams and cream cheese and rhubarb
pie, but considering where we started out, it's a dream. So remember that
sometimes you just have to educate your judges... Oh wait that's something
different. I meant that sometimes you just have to educate your in-laws.
