Generally, more or less, buttercream frosting with some kind of booze
mixed into it, known as hard sauce because it is firm when cool, but
when placed in a hunk on warm cake, pudding, baked apples, or
whatever, it melts into a sauce. And possibly because it contains
hard liquor (generally). Sometimes known as rum/brandy butter...
