[Sca-cooks] Northpass Arms Tavern

The Canton of Northpass in the Crown Province of Ostgardr announces the
Northpass Arms Tavern, Saturday March 1st and Sunday March 2nd. The
festivities for the day will include (but not necessarily be limited to) a
boffer tourney, arm wrestling, the tavern brawl, a bodice lacing
contest/relay (ladies and lords, plan your garb accordingly), and the
decorative codpiece contest.  The evening will be filled with dancing,
revelry, and games of chance.

The tavern's bruiser shall collect from each patron a tithe of $26.  This
offering will gain you food and drink for the day, a bunk in the common
rooms, and a solid breakfast in the morning.  It should be noted that there
are only 30 beds at the inn, with floor space for 10 more.  Those who do not
wish to spend the night will be tithed only $18, covering the day and the
feast.  SCA members with proof of membership may deduct $3 from these
prices.

The event's intended Head Cook, Lady Patricia of the Tangled Wyldes, has
found herself obligated to be elsewhere the day of the Tavern, so the
running of the kitchen has fallen to her hapless assistant, yours truly,
Avraham haRofeh. With the able assistance of his Deputy Cook, Lady Philippa
Ferraria, a hearty winter menu is planned based on _Das Kuchbuch der Sabina
Welserin_. Details will be forthcoming as plans are made.
