Yes.

I don't have much chance to run a 16th century packet ship, or participate
in 16th century Herring fishery...
Most of what I research kind of requires that it be done on the ocean in a
full rigged ship, not one the land, and that is just a trifle inconvenient
to do and still hold sown a 9-5 job.

I do hope someday to build a small boat, but that is not what my persona
would have done.

There is not a lot that I can do in small scale with the kind of stuff I am
fascinated by.
