Norwegian soccer team sells striker for weight in fresh prawns

A Norwegian soccer team has agreed to sell one of its strikers for his
weight in fresh prawns.

Striker Kenneth Kristensen will be weighed carefully before he moves from
third division side Vindbjart to rivals Flekkerøy.

His new team will then present Vindbjart with an equal weight of prawns.

The newspaper Faedrelandsvennen says the bizarre deal was agreed at a
Vindbjart board meeting.

Vindbjart club foreman Vidar Ulstein told Aftenposten : "Kenneth was in top
form when he left us in the winter but he has had a relaxed summer eating
seafood on Flekkerøy. I think this will be a good deal for us."

Vindbjart will be taking their own scales when the two teams meet on
Saturday. Flekkerøy boss Rolf Guttormsen says the team has plenty of
shellfish ready.

"I had no idea if it was a joke or deadly serious. When I called the
Vindbjart chairman he said it was a bit of both but they wanted the prawns.
So we had no choice," Mr Guttormsen said.
