Actually, that's medieval medical practice for you. Turnips are hard to
digest (Platina says something about this being bad for you), and rich
cheese seals the stomach, so you don't want to serve them at the beginning
of the meal.

I just got my copy of Mark Grant's translation of Galen, so now I have
even more nifty info on the humors.
