As I understand it, the Italians adopted it first in Europe, and the English
were rather resistant. Stefan's Florilegium has quite a bit of stuff. Check
there.

Dunno for sure, but it sounds awfully busy to me. Any book heralds want to
give an opinion?
Mostly Hatless, my love, we have a couple of Heralds in House- you might ask
them.....
