My sister who was a practicing RN developed her latex allergy
from working in hospitals. You don't have to have been health
compromised to develop latex allergies. The CDC has a number of
interesting documents on the allergy including this one that reminds
people that products such as erasers, swimming goggles, condoms,
pacifers, baby bottle nipples, and carpeting may contain latex.
