[Sca-cooks] Scullery duty

I've been lurking around the edges of this discussion, kinda fascinated
by the different ways folks have interpreted the original statement.  It
never would have occured to me to take it in the "I'm the cook, and I'm
too good to do dirty work" fashion that some have.  Could it have
something to do with me never having experienced that on a professional
level? I'm just an amateur cook (okay, nothing outstanding), who's
fumbled through a number of SCA feasts and learned a lot, but has no
professional cooking training/experience.  And anybody who knows me
beyond a "hello" in passing would be able to tell you that I've never
had a problem getting grungy if something needs to be done!
See, where I am, in a very small barony, we don't have the luxury of
multiple cooks, or a large kitchen staff.  Ever.  We always have enough,
although sometimes that "enough" is tired enough to literally crawl off
site by the time the event's done.  So I'd take it as pure luxury, and
with *great* thankfulness, if I weren't doing the last cleanup in the
kitchen.  I'm usually beyond exhausted by then, so if we've got a
cleanup crew!, well...hurrah!  And an equal hurrah for those good folks
who help clean during the day and the feast, so that we have enough
serving bowls and such! It makes for one less thing I have to worry
about!
