Well, I have a book that does go into the medical evidence of people
through the ages, I think using archeological finds in the London, or
England area. I think it is from HMSO, but I can't remember right now.
I will look around, but it may have been packed for moving. But in my
disk crash two weeks ago, one of the things I lost was the database of
the 300 or 400 books that I had catalogued and then packed in boxes. So
now I haven't got the slightest idea of which box it might be in, if it
is in one.

If I remember correctly, one of the things that came out in the book
was that the physical condition of folks early in the Middle Ages was
fairly good, deteriorating as folks moved into cities, including
decreases in height. Then things gradually improved again with the
greatest gains being in the last century.
