Sounds like a true success! And did the Peanut Gallery apologize for their
dis-belief. And did they rave about the bird?


Well, they didn't rave (or apologize) but they did eat about a pound (or more) of the meat.  If you use store-bought "factory" birds, probably you wouldn't lard it with the bacon.  Also, if you decided not to skin the interior birds, don't add fat.

How would this similar idea work with other meats?  Beef, then pork, then lamb?  Hmmm...
