Well, i hate fruitcakes that contain those chemical tasting and 
chemically colored "glaceed" fruits. And most fruitcakes i run into 
are either store bought, ergo packed full of chemical glaceed fruits, 
or home made following a recipe that calls for chemical glaceed 
fruits - since that's what's in the fruitcakes most people are 
familiar with.

I have eaten fruit cake made with dried fruits. That was yummy. But 
all too rare. Fruit is fine in cakes as long as it resembles fruit 
and not plastic.
