Ooooh... where to start...

First off, I would recommend a visit to the Entertainment page of the local
rag, er, newspaper, The Oregonian:
http://www.oregonlive.com/entertainment/ From there you can find
restaurants and brewpubs, etc. In fact, there's a separate link for beer!
The McMenamin's chain of restaurants is always great for meals, and some of
them have B&Bs. Check it out at: http://www.mcmenamins.com/

If they are around for Sunday brunch, Starky's is the place to be (that's
where a bunch of us SCAdian's are- good food, appropiately abusive waitstaff)

OMSI is always a great place to hit, especially with kids. Ditto the Oregon
Zoo.

Multnomah Falls are pretty astounding.

Maryhill, which is about 2 1/2 hours up the Columbia Gorge, is very
interesting- museum, with a replica Stonehenge. ISTR that there was an
event up there a couple years back- I've seen pictures.

That's a good start, I'd think. When are they coming? For how long? Are
they coming to Portland or 'near' Portland?

Some drive times-

Salem, 1 hr.
Eugene, 2 hr.
Ashland (home of the Oregon Shakespearean Festival) 5 hr in good weather.
San Francisco/Bay Area, 11hr (also in good weather- the passes were closed
yesterday and most of today)
Seattle, 2 1/2-3 hr
Victoria BC, 8 hr, depending on ferry schedule.

Basic info, can be tailored with more specifics. :-D)
