[Sca-cooks] Visit to Portland Oregon

Well, probably better than most West Coast cities.

There is the MAX (light rail) line that runs from the Airport to various
points including downtown, a fairly comprehensive bus system for the metro
area, and a downtown trolley. Once you get into downtown Portland the buses
and trolley are free. Look at http://www.trimet.org/ for information.

Powells bookstore www.powells.com (THE reason in my NSHO for coming to
Portland) is on the trolley line (Burnside and NW 10th). One city block,
six stories high in places of new and used books, and we won't mention the
outlying stores, to include the cookbook one on Hawthorne.

Also on East Hawthorne: Music Millennia - step back into the 60's for
atmosphere and find a packed record store with everything between most
recent releases and classical.
