[Sca-cooks] of sage & toads

Hi all!

I'm trying to find a source of a medieval story, & coming up empty-handed.
The story goes that a woman feeds her husband something with sage in it. He
promptly drops dead & the authorities claim she poisoned him with the sage.
To prove them wrong she eats some & dies instantly.  The authorities dig up
the sage plant & discover a toad underneath, which they of course blame for
poisoning the plant. IIRC, they kill it & find a toad-stone in its head.

Does this sound familiar to anyone here?
