First, forget the flames, you want a bed of coals.

In a Dutch oven, raise your bread pan off the bottom to prevent scorching.
Put coals on the lid to help even the heat.  Pre heat the oven before
baking.

If you want to do the terracotta thing, get a large terracotta tile and a
flower pot that will fit on it without lapping over the edges.  Plug the
hole in the bottom of the flower pot with some clay or use it to seat a
handle.  Preheat the makeshift oven in a bed of coals.  Spread coarse meal
(corn meal works well) on the tile.  Place your formed loaf on top of the
meal.  Cover with the flowerpot.

In either case, it should take about 40 minutes to bake, but I recommend a
little home practice before baking in the wild.
