Don't know about gopher wood, but we had plenty of drowned gophers when Lake Estrella began to recede.  We have two Baronial level events coming up at the same park next month.  I'm planning to sell "Estrella Gopher on a Stick" using the "Rat on a Stick" recipe at these events as a fund raiser for the Soup Kitchen our new Cook's guild is planning for next Estrella.

For anyone who has never camped at Estrella Park, the gopher population is notorious.  There are dozens of ankle sprains every year caused by the gopher holes, and there's always at least one tent to collapse because a gopher decided to tunnel under a tent pole.  This year there was a trim stealing gopher who raided Mistress Isabelle's merchant booth.  Must have been a cavalier gopher...
