[Sca-cooks] Rom, Turks and children

I've also got quite a bit on my links page under Gypsy.  My father's people
are gypsies from Buda, Hungary area.  HIS mother was born in the port of New
Orleans after they fled Hungary in 1912.  My Great-great ( Grandma's
grandfather, whatever that is to me!) had a Vardos.  When I got to play in
the ruins, it was VERY weathered.  He used to have HUGE mustache which
looked like handle bars that curved down to almost waist level.  He also
played the gypsy violin (very high pitch) and the birds would be quite and
settle in the tree behind him. We used to sit on the ground around him and
listen for hours!

Enough reminiscing, I'm starting to miss them. *sigh*

Yes, I must have overlooked the fact that you had your real names listed in
your email header.

You can watch the Rom move across Turkey and Europe in the records. Although
the records indicate when they were first noted down, not when they actually
first reached a region, I would keep that in mind when you are picking a
time
and place for your Rom personas. ie: A Rom persona in 13th century Turkey
might be plausible (I've not looked up the actual dates) a Rom in 13th
century
  England would not.

Take a look through the CHILDREN section for some children's activity ideas.
The Ministers of Children and their activities are usually not full day
affairs. They are not meant as baby-sitters, although we have had problems
with some parents treating them that way. If you can find some more parents
of
similar aged kids that may help. Then you can trade off supervision times.

Yes, a cloak was the first major piece of clothing I made. Actually my
mother
made it. A big, thick one. And she swore she would never do it again.

she did make a nice, improved version for my girlfriend, now my wife.
