My copy of Around the Roman Table Food and Feasting
in Ancient Rome arrived today.
Author is Patrick Faas who is
described as a chef and food historian. It looks like
a reasonable job at first glance. Also there seems
to be a good sense of humor. By way of foreword, there
appears this note:
"The publishers offer these recipes for historical interest,
but there is no guarantee they will suit the modern palate."

The author is described
as  writing a column for a Dutch newspaper. He also makes television
appearances and "was sued by the SPCA for
preparing on the air, the ancient Roman delicacy,
baked stuffed mice."
150 recipes with original recipes included. 371pp.
