You know, something that has escaped me throughout all this fad for
deep-frying turkeys.
Why in blazes does anybody WANT to?
***According to the package, a 10 to 13 pound turkey will fry in 35 to 40 minutes. Because the outside is instantly seared, the inside stays moist and juicy. I've heard it's most tasty.
OTOH, I wouldn't mind having a turkey fryer, although for other cooking
purposes....
***My turkey fryer has been used to butcher turkeys and this weekend we're using it to butcher chickens. I take it to camping events to heat dishwater, or cook soup. In a pinch, I've used my cast iron pots and cooked over it when we couldn't have a campfire. I have a friend who rigged his smoker to be fired with the propane ring off a turkey fryer. Now he doesn't have to watch the charcoal burn down.
