 Do you think that this might be borage?  Both flowers and leaves can be 
eaten (and the recipes called for both).  Borage tastes like cucumber (and fish, a 
little) and is good for areas where cucumber is too tender a plant.  The 
flowers are bright blue and very decorative, often used to garnish.
