[Sca-cooks] Update on my father

Daddy is slightly more alert yesterday and today. They've switched him from hydrocodone to morphine, and he seems to be pretty much pain free except for his old back problem. We've moved him to a hospital bed in Kat's old bedroom When Hospice offered to get him a hospital bed, he jumped at the opportunity. He has become almost totally bed bound, but did get up for a few hours yesterday and today to sit in his chair and watch TV. He no longer eats much at all, but is still drinking his Boost and lots of milkshakes. He is slowly getting weaker. His primary care physician has stated that he can see no reason to submit Daddy to any further hospitalizations, tests, or treatments. Daddy has elected to not be subjected to extraordinary measures to extend his life, and has stated that he does not wish to be resuscitated. Our goal now is to make him as comfortable as possible for as long as possible, with the help of Hospice.
I am afraid that any of you who wish to visit with him will have to come here to Teresa's, as I don't think he will be travelling any more, much as he has enjoyed it.
Thank you all for your continuing support.
