A pickled recipe involving root vegetables, pears, honey, wine, and spices.  
Quite tasty, and very refreshing on a hot day.  It's an English recipe, I 
believe, either 14th or 15th century.

Then of course there is Garbage, which if I remember correctly is a dish of 
cold chicken livers which specifically says that it is suitable for supper in 
the summer...
