This is alleged to be recipe used by Lindy's restaurant (as in Damon
Runyon) in New York; I pulled it off the  Web and am not certain that
this is the same Lindy's recipe my mother used, but if so, it is the
mother of all cheesecakes. Unless, of course, one is a devotee of
Junior's of Flatbush Avenue.
