I kept meaning to ask the list, but forgetting...  A month or so ago, I saw a
bizaare item in the vegetable store.  It was labelled "Yammie".  The item
itself was brown and hairy, shaped like a yam or sweet potato, or perhaps an
eggplant, with a distinct stem.  The stem end and tip both were rather
shiny-looking, as though they had been dipped into varnish....

Anyone recognize this?
