AHhh my friends,

It has been entirely too long since I gave sign of life. Life has thrown,
again, a few curve balls in my lap. It's mostly all good :-)

What have I been doing all these months? Mostly being busy with work. But
also, I was so very lucky and found a wonderful woman :-) We met online,
not looking for more than chatting. We actually met in a email support
group for folks who were widowed young! Of all places... For months, we
talked, and became good, close and fast friends. At some point along the
lines, other feelings developped. We fell in love.

One might argue that falling in love sight unseen (other than photos) is
impossible... OTOH, being able to just get to know one another, without
pretenses, just talking is incredibly good for a relationship.

Eventually, it was time to see if what we'd felt online translated in "real
life", and so Lynne came to visit. We figured this had to be a bit more of
a visit than a couple days if we were to have a better idea of what was
what. So she came to visit for 7 weeks (turned out to be nearly ten!).

Things went beyond our wildest expectations! It was fantastic!

I proposed, she accepted :-)))

The "slight" logistical problem is that she is from New Zealand. This
means someone has to move. Since I'm not a US citizen, I am legally unable
to sponsor her into the country, which means I'll be leaving to join her as
soon as we've raised the funding necessary to pay for the move (approx $8K
to start, plus ~$5K for immigration later...)

We're asking friends and family to help and give to the "Nic moving fund"
in lieu of wedding gifts. Have to be moved before we can get married!
